MISSIONS AT STONEGATE

Missions is a huge part of our heart at Stonegate. As a Southern Baptist Church, Stonegate contributes to the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program. We also feel that God has called us to help a specific missions emphasis both locally and internationally. We specifically target Church Planting, Orphan Care and an Adoption Ministry both locally and internationally.  As with most things of God, we are discovering new layers of this call all the time. Currently, it looks like this:

Church Planting

Acts clearly shows the mission of God moving forward through church planting.  Stonegate Church was planted in August 2009.  We have deep conviction that the local church is God’s primary way of reaching and discipling His people.  As a result, we see church planting as God’s primary vessel to reach and disciple new people in virtually every context.

Currently, Stonegate is supporting a number of church plants locally and internationally.  In addition to monetary support, we are committed to equipping future church planters with hiring with then the intention to send out Church Planter Residents.

Orphan Care

God has always called his people to remember the fatherless.  Fatherlessness is a huge problem and God has directed His people to love and care for orphans because it is close to His heart (Exodus 22:22-24, James 1:27).  At Stonegate, our emphasis on orphan care is ever growing both locally and internationally.

Currently, we have and are developing partnerships with orphanages in Mexico and in Ecuador. For more information about these orphanages and Stonegate’s work with them, contact KC Maddox, at .

Adoption Ministry

The doctrine of our spiritual Adoption in Christ drives us to physically express this in local and international adoptions.  When God REGENERATES us, He breathes life into our spirit, making us alive to Him  (Eph.2:4-5; Col.2:13).  When God JUSTIFIES us, He switches our guilty legal standing for an innocent legal standing; God places our sinful record on Jesus and we receive Jesus’ perfect record (2Cor.5:21).  But when God ADOPTS us, He makes us a member of His family; we suddenly have all the rights of a child (Eph.1:4-6).  When God’s people adopt children, it is a physical expression of the nature of the Gospel.

Currently, we seek to assist and aid adoptions, both within the body of Stonegate members, and within our community of believers outside of Stonegate. We assist through financial assistance, education and awareness, and ongoing support. For more information on Adoption at Stonegate, contact KC Maddox, at .
